Clocks and Gears

Hello everyone. here is a rough sketch on the Maze background.its really rough..so ahem.
I will get the detailed wan done properly once im back, due to time constraint on my part it was rush job.

Any way the The maze that i had in mind mainly came about from the gears u see inside a clock. Always rotating...Yeah i roughly followed that and came up with this.

Its a top view.Remember the spiral stairs which the main characters would used the escape from chieftain gary? well the stairs goes all the way up and leads to the very center of the maze. The circle you see in the center, that is where they would end up. From there they could split up...or not.Depends on how we would want they story.

Clock and gears i had in mind was mainly pictured something like this.

Here are some other views.

That would be where the stairs is,from the circle in the center.

As you can see from the sketch, the "gears" have buildings on them, or as for the building, er..no its not going to look like that, its just to prove a point. The buildings are there so as not to reveal what is beyond, till the characters actually get there. As for the gap between each gears, a path would form in front of them as each step is taken. Like the ones you would see in the movies. Again the details as to how it goes about have yet to be decided.

As to what the maze is capable of...

Each of the "gears" have able to turn in both directions as the arrow point in the picture.
purpose : the gaps between each of the gears, the ones at the side, the gears are able to turn and seal of the gaps, it would prevent the character from advancing, so another way has to be taken.
these are just some of the few obstacles i could think about.

The picture above is to explain the side view, as to what i said earlier that the building are there to stop the character from seeing what is ahead, if they are all in the same level, than the destination and the direction that has to be taken in the maze would be obvious.its after they reach the end, which is also the highest point in the maze, they could see the final area, the one which the character has to plant the seed.

Hope the explanation is clear enough. If there is anything else to add or improve please to let me know. :-D

  1. Its a nice mechnic for a maze, but beware that to go too much indepth till its too precise. ultimately the main focus is gonna be the characters themselve and their emotions. Be sure not to provide an obstacle too complicated ,or it would be boring to watch them solve it. Its a really nice effort for the idea of it.
